Can I add tranny fluid through shifter hole?

The title says it all: the W55 is out of my '94 pickup which means the shifter hole will be easily accessible once the tranny is back in. Can I just add fluid through this instead of fooling with the fill plug on the side?

TIA

if it's the r150 tranny (tranny for the 3.0) then i think you're supposed to add fluid through the dipstick. that's what i did when i did my tranny flush.

manual trans = yes. Just make sure you check how full it is at the fill hole underneath the truck.

Thanks - the W55 is the 5-speed behind the 22RE; it'll be a lot easier pouring from the top!
