Spare Tire Removal?

Does the spare tire on a 93 pickup X-cab have to be removed in order to take the box off?

dont think so, the spare rests up against parts of the frame structure and the box is separate from that.

im pretty sure the mechanism that holds the spare up is attached to the frame. Not sure where all the bed bolts are, but i'd bet the spare could be left in place, and the bed removed

Thanks for the insight. I have been hitting the 8 bolts with penetrating lube for a week now and will try to take the bed off tommorrow.
