What's up guys, I've had a 1991 4runner since '98. In 2002 the head gaskets were replaced through recall and has been an ok ride ever since (a few starter problems that we got fixed) I was driving last week and I got the white smoke out the tailpipe. Pulled over and took it in, head gaskets again with a "hot" engine. Basically the engine is done. So I don't know whether to just part it or try to find a new engine. Any thoughts? I saw a new engine would cost about $3k..? Also what would that be worth? The body is in great shape, moon roof, all power, automatic. Sorry no pics it's down at the shop (I'm not a "car guy" I had to have somebody look at it. 1991, 155k miles, body good shape (alittle rust) running boards.

How much does that run? and what would labor cost you think? Also where would I buy the engine?

 

for everything you need about 3k where to get a engine junk yard or a wrecked truck to have it installed not to sure about that search around lots of good info here
