1986 4runner help me please

Hey, how ist it going Yes, im a green horn (newbie) I have been checking this sight out for a while now this is awsome how its like one big sick family. any ways have a problem just pick up another 4runner it starts and idles great but give it gas and it bogs spits and sputters. swapped out tbs mas and ignition coil from the other 4runner still no change fuel pressure is 40 LOST please help thanks, newbie

Check all air lines would be the 1st thing I would do..

thanks jay feather had the same problem just diidnt no if he had gotten his truck going what it was any way cant complain picked it up for $360

check this, the feeler gauge is the two parallel lines (diagonal) on the left side of the throttle body in the drawing.

x2 on thecheck the air lines. Maybe spray some starter fluid around the engine bay and see if you can get a rise in idle speed, then you can localze the leak.

I would definitely say you have a leak but....?

the egrvm isnot on the motor it is on my other truck will have to swap out and follow this schematic is that agood possibility w/the problem

i am having the same problem but my truck (85 SR5 w/22re) wont hold an idle after it warms up but when the motor is cold it idles fine and drives fine when it warms up it spits and sputters complete with the occasioanal back fire it almost feels like its running out of gas but if ya floor it it kinda comes out of it let me know if thats the same with your truck too

damattman my truck wont really make adifference cold or warm i can give it about 1/4 throttle it will rev up but any more spits and sputs. well today check out tps plugs cap airlines etc had atiny leak on front injector so i figured it would be agood time to fix it. well when i took off the intake the back to intakes are real wet fuel the front two are normal any suggestions

damattman, check the water temp sensor for the ECU.

thanx 4runnerx3 i had called a old boss of mine who is a sevice manager for a toyota dealer and he had asked his techs what they thought it may be he said the temp sensor for the ecu was well known for doing this exact thing and not throwing a check eng light but i didnt know where it was thanks a ton ill let ya know if that does it .........is there a way to bypass it ?
