My sister's FOB has died (battery), but she had already locked the doors w/ it -- thus enabling the alarm. She cannot open the doors w/ the key w/o the alarm going off and killing the ignition.

It's a factory system. Can anyone send me the bypass instructions to get her back on the road? She's about 40 miles away and somewhat freaking out

I seem to recall opening another door w/ the key (other than driver/pass) would shut it off, but I don't remember.

if i recall correctly on my 98, you open the door, thus setting the alarm off, then you get in the car and turn the key from "off" to "on" 3 times i think. i don't really remember how many times so i usually just keep going till it shuts off.

 

Thanks for the response -- While I was waiting I was playing w/ our 99. Key to on-off twice will allow a start condition
