No. I think they are rare enough, aren't they? I might be wrong, but I just don't hear about them.

<---raises hand. Took me 3 months to find the one I have. They do show up, but not often. Oddly, most of them seem to be in Washington, Oregon, Montana and that general area.
My current one: 1993, 22re, 5sp, no power windows, no power door locks, and just plain no power LOL! If I keep this one, I'm going to put the LCE motor out of my '85 4Runner into it. It still won't be a big on horsepower, but it will be better than stock anyway.
I'm actually sort of looking at another one that has already been sas'ed, but there are a couple things I'm not too keen on that so far have kept me from just going and getting it. That and having to sell this one. If I knew I could get some decent $ out of this one, I would probably jump on the other one.

I have one!

I bought one new in 91. It was sr5 4door, 22re, 5spd, no power locks, crank windows, I had ac installed. Drove it for 5 year sold it.

Just bought a 91, same truck and color. I put some spacers in the rear and ball joint spacers in the front. This truck is clean, looks new, with a couple of body dents. I wanted this for the gas mileage and am going to use it to pick up the kids, drive to work and take it through the Rubicon. A perfect machine.

I don't mind all the no power options on a truck that has 204k on it. Nothing to break. I will get some pics.

I think you'll have a harder time finding a second gen 2 door 22re 5speed.

I got a 1995 4runner 22re. I swapped the engine and put an imported Toyota 2lte Diesel from a '93 Japanese runner (aka Surf or Hilux).
My 95 has all the options, PDL, PW, CC, fully loaded.

It had come with the 22re and 5speed manual.

Try going to Autotrader.com they have a good search engine that allows you to pick 4 cylinder or 6 cylinder. This is where I found mine and if you are patient you will see there are many out there sitting at dealers that were traded in. You see, there are lots of dealers selling on autotrader.
Just look

They are very rare!

Well, I had a 1990 22RE, manual up until about 4 months ago, then I rolled it, see avatar picture. I bought a 1990 that had a 3.0 in it that the guy blew and removed, and I just got my 22re and manual tranny put into it this weekend. So I still sort of have one, just wasn't that way from the factory.

4Runner 4-door 22RE 5Speed

I bought my 1992 4Runner 3 years ago: 4-cylinder, 4 door, 5-speed transmission, power door locks, windows, A/C, power steering. Mechanics advised me to choose the 4 cylinder over the V6, and I can say that I made the right choice for my circumstances. The engine has lived up to its reputation for reliability; it is easy to work on ( the V6 looks like it was shoe-horned into this vehicle ); with 210, 000 miles it still doesn't use more than a quart of oil between changes ( 3,000 miles ). I have to gear down to get over the mountain passes where I live ( Washington ) but so what? that's what gears are for. This one is a keeper.

they're not too uncommon around here. not plentiful, but you could probably find one for sale within a month of looking i would think.

I have one a 95 4 door 22re 5 spd. It's bare bones. It doesn't even have chrome bumpers or ac etc. I love it cuz there are sooo many 4 runners around here, so its nice to have one that looks a little different. It was the 2nd one I looked at, and I jumped on it.

I saw one on Vancouver craigslist recently, not sure if it's still listed or not.

I'm surprised that they are rare - when I bought my RUnner I looked at ~9 trucks. 6 V6s, 3 4-bangers.....all 4-door.

edit: yeah, there are a couple in the paper here right now....
