hey guys is there a link on how to remove and clean the maff sensor? also, any tips on what or what not to do?? the electronics cleaner you get to do this, is it compressed air or actually a chemical?? thanks guys


-- bc i changed plugs, fuel filter, greases shafts, changed front, rear and t-case gear oil, air filter is clean and etc oh and seafoamed one can in the intake and 2 in the gas tank andyes i had the negative batt cable pulled and still the same gas mileage!.. it runs a lil smoother but thats it.. 80k miles on the truck

- side note, it had original plugs and were shot to shiiit. white center and and darker on the outside edges

Disconnect the MAF electrical connector, spray it liberally. Let it dry thoroughly (5 minutes), reinstall...It is a chemical, under normal aerosol pressure...

 

do you clean the exposed part of the sensor or all of it? never took one out... also its just 2 screws and a clip right?

It won't hurt anything, but really all you need to spray is the heated wire...

 

Just the part that sticks into the air intake tube (pay special attention to the sensor wires!!!).

Yea I actually just cleaned mine today, thanks to the help of 4x4wire. My 3rd Gen Runner was stalling like mad, so I decided to clean the MAF. It worked wonders, I'm not idling around 600, it's nice. But yes, as stated above you need to get those 2 little pins, that will do it.
