This is why I need to sell my truck

This is the reason why I'm selling my truck...It's an 85, SFA, dual lockers, dual transfer cases, 3" body lift, 5" susp lift, frame is completely redone, swapped interior out of a 90, 128k miles...Over 10k worth of work done to it....Ready......all for $5,500....I talked with him over the phone and we talked and when I asked him if he was really selling it for that price he said..." Well ya know....Just make me an offer".....wow...So I'm taking that as he's willing to go lower.....

Wow! Sounds like you've found the dream trail machine....Plus, there doesn't seem like much you need to do to it. Good luck with the negotiations.

I'm just wondering, pretending money is not an issue, why wouldn't you want to make a project out of your runner and transform it into something like that? I mean, to me, 75% of the fun owning something like that is knowing I did the work myself and being able to show others how. I hope you don't take this the wrong way. your runner is pretty cool and you could do much of the same to it.

I agree with you 100%....That's one of the reasons, actually pretty much the only reason, why I wouldn't buy the 85...Because I couldn't take credit for any of the work....Believe me...If I had the money I would spend it on my truck to get it to where I want...But the other night I wrote out an itemized list of everything I wanted for my truck and kind of compared it to where his was......I would need about $9k to get mine close....lol...I mean the dude's got alot into his truck and it would cost me almost twice as much to mod mine compared to buying one that's already there....all I can do is if I do buy it....Show respect to the truck and drive it with pride and honor....

I've done the same thing and then showed my wife. She laughed. That was about a month ago. Well, now I'm laughing because last Friday we went out and got her a new 4Runner. You know what that means!!! So my list came out again and she read through it She wasn't laughing this time, haha, in fact it was one of those "Well, you deserve it" type reactions from her. In other words, the wife gave me the thumbs up to spend some cash on my runner so, hehe, in the next year I hope to do alot of stuff. firstly an arb air locker, then a bumper, etc...
