02 4runner new deck installation

Hey all, I got an alpine cda-9831 for my 4runner, and I'm having trouble with the wire harness, and i hope someone out there can help me.

Apparently my 4runner came with an OEM amplifier, so the connector that was connected to my OEM stereo is different than the wire harness i bought that came w/ 2 connectors. Can I have my alpine deck working with the OEM amp, or does anyone know where i can get the wire harness for the amplifier?

My 4runner stereo has two male connectors, and one is thicker than the other. I'm assuming one is for the antenna, but what does the other one do?

Someone please help.

thanks
Eddie

k, you have to take out stock deck, then follow wires down to stock amp, 5-6 inches below the radio, unscrew the factory amp, the wires that go from car to factory amp are the ones you want, they should match up perfectly

(you dont reuse the factory amp, radio and amp combos seem to go well on ebay)

edit: the factory amp is useless compared to new HU, just locates the heat away from stock radio, its still not high wattage...

You can do what wjwerdna says, or if you want to keep the amp you'll need a toyota amp integration harness, MET 70-8112 or a MET 70-8113. It will work perfectly with your deck, AND you can turn the deck's amp off which increase soundquality of the deck itself quite a bit. (I have a 9835 in my yota and a 9831 in the F250)

As far as the two antenna plugs, just use the big fat one and leave the little one hanging. (I would recommend taping it up with electrical tape just for safe keeping. )

yep, forgot to mention the antennae plugs... same thing

and i didn't realize you had option to turn off alpine deck amplifier, thats cool

Bumpin' Yota: is the stock amp same power though? it seems alpine HU would still be better?
