Hey everyone. My HG blew in my 88 4runner 3.0 auto. I am going to do the 3.4 swap but first I need the 3.4. I am considering a Junkyard. Has any ever had success or heard of anyone having success of stripping out everything needed out of a running donor vehicle at a junkyard for the 3.4 swap? Thanks

 

I pieced my whole swap together from salvaged parts.Runs great.I had to rebuild the engine though,Katrina flooded it.

 

how much did you spend at the junkyard and how much did you spend on rebuild?

 

Try to get the engine, ECU and engine wiring harness out of the same truck -- it will make your life A LOT easier!

Even better, if you can get all of that, plus all of the bolt ons (alt, P/S, A/C, intake, starter)

 

Let me know what you find out when you do this. I am interested in doing the same myself here in the future, when mine goes.

 

I should be starting the junkyard swap project around the beginning of march. i'll keep ya posted
