'98 4runner w/supercharger hesitation

I have just purchased a 98 4runner with 113,00 miles. It has the TRD supercharger and a K&N cold air induction system. It is a manual transmission truck. When I pursue a WOT it coughs and jumps along. If I pursue a throttle slowly it seems to do OK. Also on the highway in cruise mode it will begin to jump at times under a load going up a hill and clear up when the extra load is removed. I have not changed the plugs and the wires are date coded with 1997. I have pulled off the induction tube and throughly cleaned the throttle body. I would appreciate any help. Thanks...

sounds like an ignition thing...I would change all the plugs and wires, and the cap/rotor.

You may want to repost this in the correct forum folder, or maybe the mods will move it for you. You'll get much more help in this folder: https://www.yotatech.com/forums/foru....php?forumid=2

no cap and rotor, but if the truck isnt tuned correctly (bringing up another point, what fuel mods do you have) plugs can be fouled very quickly! Do not use platinum plugs either, its not worth it... just gap down a set of NGK v-power copper plugs... cheaper and you should change them every 2 oil changes!

Exactly, and a supercharger without fuel mods will run dangeriously lean at WOT. You can ruin the motor that way.
