What are you guys doing for the 3.4 swap into the
first gen 4 runners that used to be ifs and 4 cylinder?
I got a partial swap that I need to finish for
somebody but cant use the ors mounts since the truck
is a solid axle (it is now) It is an 87 4 runner that
you are supposed to leave part of the ifs brackets
on to attach the ors motor mount to, the dumba$$
I got this heap from cut them all off. Here are
some pics, and it has 3.0 engine mounts on the
block, any help would be great, pics would be better.

Hummm... I think you're charting new waters here mate. The only guy I've seen do a 3.4 swap in place of a 22re was Bill over on 4x4wire and Mike @ ORS did the work for him. http://www.4x4wire.com/forums/showfl...fpart=all&vc=1

Appearantly it was harder than they were planning on.

Yeah, I bought the mounts from mike at ORS and since the rig was an 87, they assumed the ifs brackets were on the frame. Apparently, when people do a solid axle swap, they usually leave the engine stand portion on the frame, but not the idiot that I got this mess from. This frame is now the same as an 84-85 4-runner that nobody makes mounts for. I dont mind building the mounts, but everything that I find that is close, puts the engine up too far, and when this engine sits level, you would never be able to bolt up the mounts to the frame, or work on the engine ever. I might raise the tranny, and scavenge some newer 3.0 mounts and get the frame mounts that the po cut off.

I think the best bet would be to cut the portion of the IFS bracket you need to make it work off of a junker and weld it back where it was. I'm assumuing you can see exactly where they should go and all that.

Otherwise, the only choice I see is to fab your own.
