I have a standard cab 86 manual that is in desperate need of some sound. my Ipod in the ear isn't fairing well against the rumble of my mud terrains. The big kicker is that my truck has a good habit of losing parts. (It's been stolen three times and everytime they've managed to take something new) so it hopes of leaving it as bare looking as possible I was pondering making a pair of removable speaker boxes. (handles to pull them out and bannana plugs etc etc) this would prevent a serious loss if the girl were to dissapear again. I have no plans for a face plate Im thinking more like a decent amp connected straight to the ipod. The amp I would rivet into the back wall. cuz that's got to be powered. but I was trying to make something that would be ok with the sound and removable. so like maybe 12x4x10 something like that. Does anyone have any suggestions. or has anyone made a box for a standard cab or have one that can give me measurements. I have a lot of crap to avoid back there so maybe even a fairly decent layout/measurements would be helpful.

Here are some boxes I use to have in the 4runner. They are cheap but sounded decent to my ear. (except of course for the piezo tweeter).

They were loud, efficient and had a good midbass punch. I don't know much else about them as I bought them many years ago. Here's a couple of measurements if you want to try something similar.
