I don't know if you have finished this project but,

Last week I took one off of a 1990 at the bone yard. It was screwed in. Factory mounted inserts were in the roof to accept the screws. I just threw the machine screws away. I had left it all assembled and tightened the rails square before removal. To mount I just put it up on the roof and got it set up just how I wanted it. Then I marked the screw locations and turned the rack upside down and drilled the holes for sheet metal screws. I ran a small bead of weather stripping and emblem glue along the bottom of each rail and my wife helped me set it perfectly in place. Next I just screwed the screws in and moderately tightened them. The next day I removed each screw one at a time and shot the hole full of silicone and re installed the screws.

Now I kinda wish I hadn't done all that because I saw a Tahoe there this morning and have already decided I would rather have those really long rails than the factory Toyota ones. Right now I really still need a light bar.

As for other goodies to grab, I always look for interior trim pieces and fasteners laying around in the vehicle if it matches mine. Most yards don't inventory stuff like that on older vehicles and a lot of them will throw them in for free. I also got the spare tire carrier and the tire cover from Toyota that says Toyota 4Runner on it, off the one at my yard.
