Bought an axle from a bone yard yesterday. The donor was a 84 4runner SR5 the removeable roof was in good shape, mine has crackeling going on. The boneyard guy said $40 bucks if I remove it. Also has the full gauge cluster.

I am wondering if the roof this will swap and the cluster would swap to mine??

roof will work .. but the dash cluster wont .

in /84 .. there is NO speed sensor in the speedo ... 85+ there is .

 

the cluster will work..I had no problem with my 84 sr5 cluster in my 88 22re runner. all clusters are the same from 84-89 4runners 84-88 trucks unless they had the 3vze.just a few cosmetic things changed. 88 and 89 clusters are the best looking plus the tach needle wont jump around as bad..

I got the complete axle for $200 with front drive shaft. I live in an area that is non-existant of old toys..sucks. Personally I thought it was high.

I guess I will pick-up that roof then for 40.

Thanks for the info. I guess all I have to do is swap the oil pressure sending unit. BTW, You have a spare tailgate?? I can see my feet standing next to mine!!

My 89 has a speedo cable.

come to think of it i might have a tail light, but wont know for sure until i'm at my shop.. also might have a sending unit.
