Are 22r clutch kits and transmission same as the 22r toyota celica/celica turbo . I have a 88 22RTE 5speed 2WD and looking for a clutch. Any help will be appreicated.. thanks

just pressure plate pressures (springs) are different ..

they are interchangable .

 

I hope "pretty much" means "NO".
The 22r/22re clutch and the 22rte clutch are different... The 22rte has a larger clutch and the two are not compatible! Many, many clutch vendors have them listed incorrectly, btw - you need to compare the SIZE of the clutch, otherwise you'll get something you can't use.

The 22rte is a 236mm clutch/pp.
The 22r/22re is 224mm clutch/pp.

I just bought both clutchs and compared them..
It looks like the they both look the same but clutch disc is just a bit thicker/wider, I'll try to have some picture up..

I"m guessing the celica, PU, 4X4 are all different clutches.
