Changed the timing belt, drained and pulled the radiator to do that job. All back together, everything runs fine and temp guage is perfect. At idle, hill climbs, wheeling... all good.

The catch... I have no heat in either the dash heater or rear center console heater.

With engine at operating temp, the upper radiator hose feels hollow, easily squeezed. I took the cap off and let it idle for maybe 10 minutes and there was no change with the hose nor did the coolant seem to flow in the radiator. I turned both heaters on full during this time, but still no heat.

The thing I don't underatand is that if coolant is not flowing becuase of an air bubble, which in turn makes the heat not work... then why doesn't my engine run very hot or at least fluxuate temp?

Did you change the water pump with the t-belt? It almost sounds like it's not pumping. Could be a stuck t-stat as well. Take the upper hose off and try to top the coolant off by pouring it into the upper hose (engine side).

On a totally unrelated note: I noticed that you mounted your hella lights as rock lights. Did you drill into the frame, or did you use some other method to attach them?

 

I am going to try the fill from the top method tomorrow. The water pump was changed previously... not with this timing belt change. I am thinking it is air as everything worked fine before. Just strange to me that I have no overheat problems.

In regards to the Hella rock lights, I just used a couple small sheet metal screws for each bracket.

 

Jack the fron of the vehicle up as high as you can (or just park on a steep hill) and run the engine for a while. It sounds like an air bubble and that should get it out.
