Need help with pwr antenna wire ID

Any car audio gurus on here....or somebody with the '97 Tacoma wiring diagrams?

Mt '97 Tacoma had an already installed Alpine head unit. Power antenna does not work (wasn't wired up).

Alpine deck has one 12vdc+ power antenna signal lead. There is a power antenna relay in the truck somewhere that (according to my diagram) already has ACC 12vdc+ applied. There are two wires that go from this relay to the head unit...RED/BLU and RED/WHT. I'm not sure how this relay is supposed to work....were the two red wires originally switched in the OEM stereo? Or, do I need to put the 12vdc signal to one wire, or both?

I don't want to start frying things finding out the hard way....lol.

If there's anybody on here that's familiar with this stuff....I'd love to hear your thoughts.

If I knew where the damn relay was, maybe it has a small diagram on the side?...wishful thinking maybe.

OK, I went and bought an adapter harness, and it answered my question. Both OEM wires need 12vdc+ from the single lead on the Alpine deck. The adapter harness has a jumper in it.

I was avoiding buying the adapter because the asshat previous owner chopped the factory harness up pretty good wiring in the deck. I really hate it when any Joe Blow with a pair of pliers and a roll of black tape thinks he's a stereo installer. I always find myself re-wiring somebody else's mess.

Thanks for the help guys.

Yeah, it really annoys me too....I just bought this truck, and I'm trying to fix all the wiring and mess left by the previous owner/installer. There is like $2000 worth of stereo equipment in the truck, yet they decided to hack up the factory wiring rather then spend $10 on an adapter. Go figure. I am equally unimpressed with the electrical tape connections and untidy wire routing.

Oh well, it gives me something to do over the winter....hehehe.

Thanks for your help.
