rough ride with Tundra/OME lift
Is anyone else experiencing sort of a rough ride with their Tundra/OME lift?
any little bump in the road i feel. When I hit big bumps, everything in my car rattles b/c of the vibrations. It feels like its worse in the winter. I have only had the lift on for 2 years. I recently rode in a tahoe and it was like a caddy. Anyone else experiencing this or am I just being a baby?
Maybe Im just being paranoid...perhaps i should ride in someone elses rig that has the tundra lift....ahem...kcebes..LOL

You used the N91s shocks? I did and it is rougher than stock around town but on the higway I find it really nice; flat and composed. With the SB removed around town is pretty nice, especially fast sweeping parking lot entrances.
Are you thinking something is wrong? Has it gotten harsher over the 2 years?
Mine is harsher in the winter, I'm guessing it has to do with body mounts being hard and cold and the gas in the shocks taking up less volume however I thought OME used Nitrogen which is unaffected by temp change.

yea i used the 91s on the front
The rears also seem stiffer than usual. I have 2-12" subs with a JL box in the rear and it still isnt enough to soften the ride. Maybe ill buy some sandbags...LOL
I think im just being paranoid by thinking something is wrong..when in fact, everything is fine.

jk. I'm actually complicating the same lift. Is it really that bad?
I'd expect a lifted 3rd gen to have a little rough ride on pavement but if it performs/flexes on trails then i don't really mind that.
Screw using sand bags.
What about different shocks ?

We are planning a trip for Jan 6th. Wanna go? No details on where yet, we just want to go.

When I went from stock to the Tundra/OME n91s setup it was much softer. I would think that a 4runner would have a softer ride than a Tacoma with the same setup since you guys have a heavier front end.

I am much happier with the ride with the Tundra/OME lift than I was with the stock 66,000-mile suspension. You can tell the spring rate is slightly higher, but the ride is actually better, particularly as the road gets rougher. I used to bottom-out on speed bumps, now the suspension feels very composed.

i actually have been wheeling a couple of times and that caused the front to sag a little with the TJM which is a good thing. I think I am just being a baby..LOL
it just feels that whenever i hit a bump, the shock and spring dont absorb anything. I guess its better than bottoming out.

My setup is finally dialed in exactly how I think these trucks should have come bone stock from the factory!!! The comfort shocks do make for a really nice ride as well. I did notice that the 890s were a bit more harsh than the 906's and I'd assume the 891's with an unloaded rear would be stiffer still so you'd have to take that into account. I have yet to ride in anyones truck with the Tundra springs up front so I can't comment there at all.
