head gasket leak on outside....???

1986 4runner 208k with a 22r....the head gasket is leaking coolent on the outside....havnt seen it going into the motor....should i be worried?? is this normal??...the truck was an everyday driver and then sat for a few months and is now being driven agian...please help...thanks

Yes, you should be worried. No, it is definitely not normal. Get it fixed.

I'm currently in the middle of a head gasket replacement, and I think my head might be warped.

do you think the head itself is going bad?? or just the gasket?

also what would it cost me to has someplace to it for me??? or should i just do it myself and save the cash??.... the reason i ask is cuz its cold and snowing here in syracuse ny....

Always get the head resurfaced always better to be safe then sorry. Count your blessings at least you have the 22r compared to 3.0 haha. That is the one time I wish I had a 4 banger.

I don't know what it would cost to replace a headgasket from a shop, but I bet it would be hella expensive. I've never done one myself but I bet if you're confident with your toolery and mechanicking skills that you could do it yourself. And with the infinite wisdom of everyone here and their unstoppable willingness to help, I bet you could get it done without a hitch. That would be my bet.
