Should I have the stock stripes put back on.

I finally got my 4Runner back from the Body Shop after nearly 7 weeks. The not only repaired the damage from the wreck but they fixed every little imperfection and painted the entire Truck.

They haven't put the stock Stripes (decals or whatever they are) on as yet. I like the way it looks without them, but I also like the way it looked with them. What do you think Stripes or No Stripes?

Thanks for your responses

Andy

Will post finished Pics as soon as a get a chance.

No stripes!

If it's a dark-colored 4Runner, no stripes. If it's a light-colored 4Runner, no stripes. In other words, no stripes! My $.02

I like the stripes. I went to the dealer and bought a replacement because the guy I bought my 4Runner from had bodywork done and never did replace it. If I remember, it costed me around $60 for the whole right side.

Definitely like the stipes...grey 4runner with light and dark grey stripes. Looks sharp. But they are starting to peel off a lot. Like the last time i took it thru the car wash. Would liek to replace them, but don't have a gazillion $$$. o well....

I'm glad to hear you finally got it back andy.

I would leave them off. it keeps people, like me, guessing

also, i dont like any of the stripes they put on the second gens except the 95 stripe, what i have. the other stripes, are IMO, ugly

which brings up a good idea, put the 95 stripes on there!

ringo,

i personally don't like them. also, if you get tired of them in the future, you'll have to deal w/ the "phantom" sticker outline as many have experienced.

I agree with L33T35T 4Runner. The only stripe I would put on is the kind like what he's got. I'm thinking about taking my pealing one off and replacing it with that design. Dealership down here wanted $75 total for both sides (made at a local shop).

So, basically, if you can't find the strip that's on L33T35T 4Runner's 4Runner, then I vote for not having one.

Well, that's my opinion.
Have fun.

No to the stripes. When mine was wrecked, they fixed the one side and removed the other. Can't tell I even had them.

Thanks Everyone for responding. I think I'll leave them off.
The body shop bought them and gave them to me in case I did want to put them on.

L33T35T 4Runner let me know when your working and what time you get off and bring my Truck around so you can see.

yeah I had a gay ass design with the stripes on the side, I had to use gasoline to get it off cuz of the sticky crap it left behind, smelly job, but got it done.

Luckly there were no sun spots.

I have a '91 and the stripes are the same. See for yourself:

I love 'em. Light colored runners look too plain without them.

are the stripes actually Toyota or are they dealer add-ons like Honda and other dealers who install them as a forced option like sunroof deflectors and cd changers. Most of those options are dealer installed, not factory installed. I bought a '00 Prelude and made them remove the stripes and the 175.00 they had charged for them.
