Are you going to drive yourself across the country? As I understand it the military considers a decent day's drive to be around 400 miles or so which would give you a bit more then a week's vacation none of it chargable as leave. Or are you being sent to Bragg for your sins in which case they probably want you there ASAP.

At least you will still be able to get some fresh seafood.

ROFL..no..I am was being punished by being in the Unit I am leaving. Yup I am driving across country, towing my 4Runner behind the Tundra on a new 16foot trailer I picked up. MS Streets and Trips says the route I am taking is around 3500 miles so I say 3700. uncle Sam is going to give me 9 days travel, plus I am taking 11 days leave and 10 days permissive TDY..so that comes out to 30 days to drag my ass there, but I plan on doing it in two weeks. I want to get their early so I can buy a house. I know I am getting assigned to SOCOM so life should be ok

Welp, I made it here. Tundra towed my junk behind it just great. I came in right behind the first storm that hit oaklahoma and the one that just hit. We are in the process of buying a house in Hope Mills, if all goes well I should be wheeling in a couple months.
