trans removal headers?

ok, ive been reading up on header installs and from what i have heard they are a pita. my 4runner has 103k on the stock clutch and i want to put a centerforce in, so i figured since i want to s/c it i should install the trd headers i want to buy while i am doing the clutch. i figure this way it should be a breeze. has any one had their m/t out while installing trd headers and was it easy?

It will make it a little easier. You might be able to salvage the crossover in fact. If not, just cut the stupid thing off.

So you plan to supercharge? Have you set aside money for the fuel and timing mods? If not, skip the headers and get the URD kit at a minimum. If you want to see the mods I am running, click the link in my sig.

well when i first got into this whole s/c thing, i knew more fuel was needed so i figured the 7th injector kit was great, but i really like urd's s/c fuel upgrade kit. fuel pump and all new injectors etc.. it seems like it would be more effective than the 7th injector. i dont have money for the s/c yet but it will not be installed untill i get urd's kit. the way im going about this is having most everything set up before the s/c and fuel upgrades. my stock clutch is going to hate me if i s/c i now lol.

That's awesome. Cheers to you for doing your homework and pledging to do it right. I tried to squeeze by without doing injectors and that was a big mistake. The fuel/timing kit is a must. Besides, installing the injectors is surprisingly easy. The hardest part with the header install is the driver's side bank. You can make quick work of the crossover by just cutting it off, so no worries there.

It's a good all-in-one package. I just did things a bit differently and ended up saving a couple hundred bucks in the process.

Again, they are listed in that link in my sig. Let me know if you have any questions. It's pretty trick because I can tune this thing with my laptop on the fly.
