window seal / dust sweep replacement

i looked around but didnt see a quick write up with the dust sweep replacement, so i took some pictures doing mine today.
its pretty straight forward, take all of the attachments off of your door like the handle, lever bezels, and window crank. use the rag method for the crank which is called out in the FSM. pull your door panel off which can be a pita if you have vent windows like i do. the old sweep will pull straight up and off, leaving behind three plastic clips in the door. the new OEM window seal will come with new clips already attached so its up to you whether you want to reuse your old ones or not, i decided to break the old ones out and use all new parts. the new seal simply pushes into the holes where the old one sits. its much easier to do with the window down. the new seals were 15 bucks per door, so 30 dollars total at the local toyota dealer. the inner seals are no longer available from toyota. the old seals
my door panels, i know are all manual, no wires.
oem parts with p/n from toyota
the rag method
be careful not to lose the clips, one of mine popped off and i lost it.

the screw covers for the door handle pull straight out.
use a flat bar or trim tool so you dont crack your door panels
you can pull the plastic off and put it back on with some gasket sealant.
the old seal pulling off
the clips stay behind
new seals pushed in

Nice job!

I was surprised to find out that these window seals/dust sweeps are still available, for both vent and standard windows. Too bad the inside piece is no longer available.

Mine have a tiny bit of moss starting to grow in the inside lip (thanks to the wet Pacific Northwest weather).
