I miss my typhoon i had 10 years ago. This one has almost nothing left stock just fully fully built. Around 900hp with Bow tie block, 76mm turbo, stand alone ecu, coil overs, 4 wheel Baer brakes etc etc

All the rear shocks needed chroming so I took them off and cleaned the boots. They were really bad but actually cleaned up really well and the rubber was still in nice shape

This is by far the best story of a car restoration that i've read on the forums and, i also can't wait to see it running and back on car shows like it did in the past, and congratulations on the great job you are doing by bringing this truck back to life.

Man I've been holding out for a set of fun country II's like it used to have. Earlier this year I was given a number of a guy that had a nice set of 4. I gave him a call and turned out it was Odie Arizona. I was wanting to buy them from him but he passed away 3 days after I talked to him

At this point all the wiring was done from the bumpers up into the cab. Next was to work on the cab which was a total mess inside. The Ran all new wires and got most the functions working on the combo switch.

Damn, I waited so many years to see this sight. These are the original headlights from when I first saw the truck 21 years ago.

What a cool story. Cool to see it all coming back together. You should get a hold of Pepe at Global Off Road Supply. He may be a good source of information as well as tires and rims.

Man, what a page-turner story this is. I love to see people with a passion for a vehicle. I have this same passion for my Yota. Loved her from the first time I saw her and drove her off the lot in 1981. Loved working on her in the garage last night. These type passions for vehicles are missing in today's generations. Most of the younger folks, not all, but most just don't get it. It's a little difficult to get my son involved with working on mine with me.
What you're doing is exceptional in the fact that you relentlessly pursued this thing and then even after having it, you pursued the original parts. But what's more amazing is that you were able to find so many of them and THEN the owners still had them in working condition and would sell em to you.
Absolutely amazing. Keep up the good stuff bud.

I appreciate the kind words. Funny my truck would have looked just like yours up until 1988 when it was pulled apart for the build. Wish I could find a picture of it when it was stock or even new. Pretty damn cool that you've owned yours since new. Whats just as crazy as the story is I actually bought my childhood house back that I lived in years ago when I saw the truck and have my dad's old truck we took to the show that day. I guess I'm just a little nostalgic.

How's this rebuild/restoration/clean up going? Have you had it on the road yet? Got any videos or current pictures sitting under the Sun in all of its shiny chrome glory?
