Tough call. Its not a "quadrajet" really, those are 4 barrel spreadbore vacuum secondary carbs common on 70s and 80s GM v8s.
its a Rochester 2gc or 2gv. I wouldn't run it without looking inside for junk, plugged passages, bent idle mixture screws, leaky float, etc.
so considering all that, you may as well get a rebuild kit for it. Looks like somebody may have rigged the choke plate to work by cable.
i like carbs so i wouldnt mind experimenting with it but the weber is probably a better made unit and easier to get parts and info on.
i believe the webers are progressive, meaning one barrel opens before the other and this Rochester whatever has both throttle plates on the same shaft. So for the amount of throttle movement it might "feel" faster or more powerful because you are flowing more CFM at the same thrttle position.
for what it's worth...

Yeah I didn't think anything about calling it a quadrajet lol the little info I did get stated exactly what you said.
I do like that it's a non progressive carb because I need better off idle throttle response given the vehicle it's going on is on its way to being a dedicated trail rig and I don't need the better fuel mileage lol
My concern with the Weber is that I've rebuilt two used Weber's and there's still something off with the idle circuit screw/jet on the primary..
If for some reason I tighten it too much or it's a hair too far out it won't idle and it it's only supposed to hold the jet in place and yes I've used multiple Jets and screws so I'm lost lol

When I saw the pic first thing I thought was Rochester 2bbl - does it say Qjet on it?
The 32/36 is a progressive and there are a lot of tuning options. And you need to tune it (jetting etc.) to get it running right for however your engine is equipped.
