I have a 1982 2wd Pickup I just finished rebuilding the Engine and transmission and I'm starting body work. My cab has no rust at all and my frame is good but the bed it an absolute rusted out mess. I would rather replace than repair the bed. Problem is I can't find any 1st gen parts trucks. I have however found a second gen bed that's already been pulled and is for sale for 25$.

How complicated is the swap? And will it look goofy? Any one have pictures?

 

unbolt it, the gas line and wiring for the lights. dunno if it is a direct bolt on as far as mounts lining up but it has been done a ton of times

 

Don't do it....the 1st gens have such good styling!
