Spare parts!
I still needed to find a airbox, downpipe, cat converter, O2 sensors, EVAP box and PS line to modify. Found a local Toyota parts wrecker. I bought 1/2 a 98 Tacoma 5spd. Has a long block 3.4, 5spd, t-case, front diff etc plus all the stuff I needed. The price was same for individual parts needed only, or take the whole thing and strip them myself. Can you guess what I did? I have a spare engine (long block)now at least.
Sold!
Stripped it down quickly
Cut the frame up and sent it for scrap. Now just need to finish striping the cab and it can get crushed too.
And then there were 2!

Crossover pipe
Thanks to the insane amount on information on this site, and the stickys in the 3.4 swap section. I was able to build my own crossover pipe. I also studied photos of others, and was able to build mine quite easily. Everything has been In the glass beader to clean, now need to finish tig weld then paint. Fingers crossed it fits!

Bit of an update.
2015 TRD Sport Wheels w/ 285/70/17's. Used a 1.5" spacer to fit past control arm and tie-rod. Could have gotten away with 1" possibly. Turns out it is the perfect fit, don't stick out too far.

Nice job getting the wheels mounted up. Looking good.
I am surprised you needed spacers on your truck to get the wheels fit up. What is the backspacing on those wheels, and width? I am about to purchase some 16x8 4" backspacing rims and did a test fit with some 16x9 4.5" backspacing and i had no clearance issues on my 88, at least nothing I noticed... maybe i should go back and double check again. I felt like I had at least an inch between the upper control arm!

These Tacoma wheels are 7.5" wide and have a 5.5" back spacing, that's why the spacer is needed. If it were a stock tire size it may have fit, but with the 285/70R17 and no spacer this happens.
I am sure a 1" spacer would have been enough.
My winter rims are 16x7 Tacoma/4Runner wheels, I believe 4.5" backspacing w/265's and they are fine. You should be good to go.

New shoes
Too bad I had to give the new tire's back, they were not mine. Lol. Just on loan for a test fit. But guess what? I bought a set for myself!
2014 Tacoma Sport Wheels
Paired quite well with 315/70R17 BFG A/T tire's.

Update
Been a while since I updated, the 3.4 is getting close, new crank seals, cam seals, valve cover gaskets, timing set, water pump. Basically all the stuff that is easier to change while its on the stand. Basically pulled everything off, cleaned, sand blasted some, glass beaded some, painted some, then re-assembled.
Too bad my camera sucks.
This is how i flipped the fuel lines

Found this Rebco style box at the wreckers last fall, and since the weather is getting better, I thought I better go grab it. Needs some work on the underside, some of the cross members are getting a bit thin, but It will be good and strong when I am done.

I found this forum about the company that built this box, looks like they went out of business long ago.

Google Toyota Loggerbox and you will find more of this style box. Not many, but a few. This style box was more common for forestry companies on 1 ton bush trucks than imports.

This is excellent work! Love that you're fixing it up. My pickup was in an accident this winter so I have some front end work to do myself, but it isn't difficult. That bed box is awesome. Somebody rear ended the back of my truck and dented the bed, so I was debating a flat bed, but I like how this box looks. Keep up the good work!

Not to late at all, I am still waiting to order a few new parts before I preform the swap, so the tach is still sitting in a bag on the bench waiting. Good point on the solder, or lack of solder, I will have a closer look and repair as necessary. Thanks for the tip.
