Went to see the cab today. Just a couple things left before I will be getting it back!

I noticed that they are taping off a lot of stuff that can easily be removed - like the ID plate on the firewall, wiper access covers, heater core, etc. I would highly recommend removing those and painting under them. It is not difficult, nor time consuming but it is one of the differences between painting a truck and painting a truck the right way. Also, if you weren't planning on it, I would go ahead and replace the seam sealer - especially in the drip rail. Again, it is the difference between just painting and painting it the right way. You've gone through all of this trouble so far and I'd hate to see somebody cut corners on you and make you regret it later on down the road.

I took everything off the firewall except for the ID plate. He just taped everything up. I don't what his plans are for painting it but I do know that he is going to paint everything because he told me he wouldn't paint it unless everything was off of it. It is a family member that is painting it who also loves Toyota's and said he's going to do it right because you don't find many nice Toyota's nowadays.

Cool, just letting you know. Nothing peels easier than a hard edge on a paint job especially when all you need to do is drill out the rivets to remove those plates - probably easier than masking them off anyway. Looking forward to seeing some fresh paint on this thing!

The most recent pictures I have of the cab. The engine bay and behind the grill are painted. The interior is also done but I wasn't able to get a good picture of it.

Went over and finished painting the cab before I pick it up tomorrow. Undercoated the truck and painted behind the grill black.

Got the cab back today and got it set on the frame. Here are a couple pictures of it. I plan on taking some better ones in the morning.

Man.... It's going to be so nice that you're gonna buy another one to wheel and keep this one as fresh as it is. Sick truck man.

Thanks man. Yep, plan on buying something else to wheel that probably won't be street legal.

Got some stuff done on the truck. The interior is now black instead of grey. I personally think it looks way better then it did. It is kinda hard to see but I will post smoe more down below. Also did a lot on the front of the truck. All the lights are in along with the bumper and winch. Glad I put them on before putting the fenders on so I didn't have to worry about scratching them up.

Got almost all of the interior in. Just have to wait til the truck is complete so I can take it somewhere to get the interior finished completely. Plan on getting a custom center console made for it and some nice shift boots.

Got the truck running last night. Fired right up after sitting for about a year. Just have to bleed everything then it will be able to move under its own power.

My original grill was pretty beat up so I picked up an aftermarket one. I thought it was black but when it showed up it was a charcoal grey. So instead of painting the grill black I decided to keep it grey and get everything else color matched to it. Here are some pictures of them finished.
