opinion on 1069 procomp wheels
I'm looking at a set of ProComp 1069 wheels. I'll be using 265/75 tires. I've never owned ProComp and was hoping some ProComp users could comment on their experience.
These have a -11 offset. If I'm doing my math right, that means about 3.6 inches of backspacing, so I'll be pushing the wheels to the outside of the vehicle, relative to my stock rims. Eventually these may hold 285/75 tires, but not for a good while.
If anyone has pics of a 4Runner with these wheels, I'd love to see it. But I'm mostly interested in quality issues and the backspacing.
Thanks!

I have Pro Comp wheels, but not those.
But I can tell you I am 100% satisfied with the quality of them.
These are the 7089s just in case they peak your interest.

This one has less dirt on it

I think they are the nicest looking wheels yet that I have owned.
They are very durable too.

Plus they have not been washed since last October or so, and they still look nice and black and clean.
Must be the coating they use on them.

I bought my Taco with the 6079's on it and they seem to be really nice wheels. I've had a few wheels in my day and I have no complaints on these. I've got 33x12.5 on them and the backspacing is pretty hefty. Not sure of all the specs but they look pretty wicked to me. Sorry I don't have any pics though

I have the 1079's with 4" backspacing and they stuck out from my limited flares nicely. 2 have developed a little bit of surface rust, but i think thats more my fault than anything else.

I think mine are the 1069's. I love them! They look great, work great. No complaints. I'm not sure what backspacing I have but they are 15x8, (yes one of the few rare 15" 4runners) and I have 33/12.5/15 pro comp mud terrrains. If you get the 16X8 wheels, you should have no problems with the 265's or the 285's. My other 97 that I owned had 16X8 with 285 mtr's and looked great. Hope you can see the pic ok. oh and my runner isnt as raked anymore

Thanks for the replies. For some reason I've got some math wrong. The 1079 wheels have a 4 inch back spacing for the 16x8 wheels. I don't get how you can have an 8 inch rim, -11 mm offset, but 4 inch backspacing.
I may go for these wheels, though they do seem to stick out a bit. Some is good, but I don't want to end up messing up my paint by spraying crap.

LOL! Yeah, with three + inches of tire sticking out of the side of my truck, it really does throw the spray around. My trucks paint definately isn't pristine so I really like the way it looks after some good fun offroad.
However, I had to take a load of crap to the dump the other weekend, and it was raining out. When I got home I noticed the spray all over the side of my truck and realized that it was all pure nastiness from the dump. I immediately went to the car wash and got it all off.....that was effin gross.
