What is the T100 Hub nut torque speck and procedure(4wd 1996)

for the t100, Tacoma and 96 4runner Chiltons says "Tighten the hub nut to 80 ft. lbs." and "Tighten the locknut to 174 ft. lbs."

This seems wrong to me

it says nothing about a lock washer (which my setup does have)
I also have the 54mm or 2 1/8" hub nut and locking nut

for other toyota truck modles Chiltons says tighten hub nut to 48 lbs turn wheel back nut off retork hub nut to 18 lbs install locking washer install lock nut to 35-58 lbs bend tabs on locking washer

I have torqued the nut to 80 ft lbs and I can turn the hub ok with one hand... so it seems like it may be ok at 80 ft lbs. Chltons aslo does not give a preload speck to check with a spring guage(not sure how to preform the spring load test - could use a pointer here if you have the speck)

Anyone know how this should be on my 96 extended cab t-100 4wd

THANKS!

Well what you are doing here is your are seating your bearing seals and the actual bearings into place, because older model hubs where servicable types, when you took off your rotor hub, you took off the entire hub. Newer models are the non-serviceable hubs so when you take off the hub, it comes out as one unit.

Anyway, 174 lbs does sound like an ACCURATE torque for the axle nut, or I think as you call it axle nut. Just be thankful it's not like a Honda's nut where it's torqued to 240 lbs 80 lbs is the wheel lug nut torque, I don't think I've ever seen an axle nut at 80 lbs although it might be a spec on the old Ford Topaz's or Escorts. It's been a while since I did a service like that.
