I have a 1990 22re 4x4. Head gasket is beginning to leak into the cylinder. If I have the gasket changed for $850 is there a history of the motor losing the bottom end? It has 92K on a total remanufactured long block. Not sure to to fix or sell it. Should I put a new head on it while it's off?
Any techs out there with some ideas?
Any help would be great.

2001 3.4 automatic tacoma swap going into a 1994 3.0 manual toyota pickup. The motor is in. the fuel lines and vacume hoses are in. Starter and alternator are also hooked up. Now I am down to the wiring... Is there anybody that has done this same transfer that could give me any advice?

Been 4wheeling in the San Juan mountains for a few years now, not recently, and just got the 4runner back together to do it some more. If anyone wants to go on a trail run near ouray, silverton, telluride area please let me know.
