Wireless connection question

Wireless connection question
I just received my Dell laptop and am having trouble connecting to my wireless router at home. I configured the laptop with an Intel/Pro wireless card, as this is required in my office. After setting everything up, a small window pops up and informs me that the computer is connected to my Linksys router (wirelessly). Yet when I try to access the Internet, it does not go through. Picking one of the two other wireless access points (probably neighbors) allows me to get to the Internet flawlessly.
Attaching an ethernet cable from the laptop to the router allows instant access. I have enabled the wireless function through the Linksys admin site, but am not sure what I may need to configure differently on the computer itself to allow this.
I will not have this on a network at home. Thank you in advance for any thoughts. Here is a pic of the Linksys admin page:

Is this a brand new router, or was it used somewhere before? Reason being is that under that ADVANCED tab is something called MAC Filtering which you'll want to be cleared out for now.
First be sure that this is the router that your laptop "sees". To do that, change the SSID and note if the Laptop shows the new name.
I've fogotten what else is under ADVANCED... Can you snap a screen shot of the options?

Mark,
I've used this router for a year or more. I just happened to buy a wireless version at the time because it was cheaper than the identical non-wireless unit

I really really suggest you set the WEP, Or you may have some surrounding neighbors sharing your bandwidth.
I say this because I do it around my Apt, Piggybacking is nice when it adds up to 30+Mbit.
I dont hack, Nobody has anything I would want anyways.

Andreas; Did you try changing the SSID to be sure you're connecting to what you think you are? Also try a different channel...

my guess is your running into a softwere firewall. I had the same problems with my cousins laptop i was trying to configure to use a cable modem. Symtamic crap was bascily supressing all access to the network expect for internet exploder and that had been seriously hyjacked by virus/spyware. I had to uninstall it in order to be able to work around the broswer problems.
