Web site,server,php, log in help.

Ok I went and bought a donmain name from godaddy and bought 2 months hosting to go along with it. I thought I was pretty good with computers untill I tried to upload my front page and the programs I am using won't connect. I built my pages and now I can't download them. I want it to have a main page then sub, sub, sub, ect with a forum.
I guess I am internet savy but this really humbled me. It's been a week and I still aint got it up.
I am using this godaddy plan Economy plan and I can't upload crap to it. I am under the windows version, do I need to switch to Linux? I am trying to get a mybb message board but I downloaded it and can't open it. Do I need to open it on my computer and set it up or send it to the server to open it? If so how?

Well, the only reason you wouldn't be able to connect is because you are using the wrong information. This could be a combination of all or some: domain, username, password, port. Are you sure you are following the FTP instructions from GoDaddy?

Once you get that working, you will have to follow the installation instructions in the myBB rar, they are pretty detailed. It requires you to upload files, CHMOD (change permissions...all FTP programs can do that) them and then go to a URL in your browser to start setup. All forums are different, so I don't know how to do myBB on the top of my head, but I will be glad to help wherever I can.
