Good game!
1.5 hours of fun!!!
Glad you could make it
Ray
Bruce
Steve

I will have some video highlights tomorrow

I do not have a favorite type of game style, I like 'em all.
Capture the flag, Invasion, and team deatch match are all good.

I do like killing the big monsters though in Invasion.
Fun to watch them explode

I thought it was a bot.
Did he/she have a ping rate?
If so, we had a surprise guest.

Yup, he had a ping. At first I thought he was a bot too, but then he followed me and killed me a couple times.

Sorry we missed you man.
Shot some video.
17 or so MB

Love that Fraps software, but when running it, it causes a little CPU lag and I end up getting slaughtered when recording

dr, I think you may have met your match, Putz is good.
He got me several times, even when not running Fraps.

I will play later today this afternnon perhaps, and posibly tonight after 6 PM.
Anyone else wanna join in, the IP for dr's server is:
24.249.204.175
password:
yt

That info is back a few pages, so I am bringing it back out again.
I was impressed that I was getting no lag last night with 4 of us in it plus the bots.
You from California though had a lower ping rate than me since I am in WA. state and the server is in CA.
I think my ping was around 70, Bruces was 120, and Ray and Steves were around 40.

Some good news, some bad news...

First the good news.

As you may have seen elsewhere in the PC section here, my friend Andy runs two servers out of Seattle that are very fast for gaming.
One is running Linux and two ports from Counter Strike Source.
The other server runs XP on it and two ports for the new Battlefield 2.

They may end up formatting the Linux box and running only one port for CSS, and maybe get UT2004 installed on it.
Not sure if this is going to happen yet, but they are checking into it.

Now for the bad news.

I installed UT 2004 on his girl friends PC yesterday.
She use to play a lot of the old UT, UT 2003, and UT 2004 when it came out.
She may get back into it, and quite possibly be able to join us.
She played on dr's server for a bit yesterday and it is bookmarked now in the favorites area.
The bad news?
She is good boys, and many of you will succumb to getting the smithereens blasted out of ya

I use to battle with her before, and she is pretty good.

Are we playing Friday night on dr's server?
I hope to make it by 7, but it may be after if I work late.

I will also try and setup tonight another version of Death Match that includes all weaponry if we desire to play that version instead of the Instagib shock rifle.

Done!
Here are all of our styles so far.
You can see I added in another instance of Team Death Match that has all weapons on.

Good game Ray & Steve.
I played for quite awhile, but it was funny when you said I was getting much better
That was when my 18 year old took over.
He is pretty darn good in first person shooters.

He is busy playing Diablo II right now on his PC in the other room.

I will play some tomorrow if anyone wants to play.

Ray, the voice chat was cool, but I guess Steve can not hear since he was not on our team?
Will have to check to see if there is a way to broadcast voice to everyone besides teams.

Corey,

There is a key stroke that changes your voice from "team" to
"public."

For the life of me I cannot remember what it is.

I enjoyed too.

Yup, good game guys. I was wondering why I was dying so much . I like the summit level, everytime somebody gets shot in mid air it looks like dove hunting with feathers flying.

I don't think I heard Ray too much, but I did hear Sam loud and clear.

Steve, you could hear my son talking on the mic?
If so, pushing the F key then transmits it to both teams.
But when we were pushing F, it said Team Speak I think.
Also on your end you should see a small pic pop up with the transmitters player pic on it.

Yeah, he kept getting killed by you for awhile on Summit until I told him you were probably up on the snipers platform.
That is a great place to snipe from, but kind of hard to get to.

We saw no lag either on the server, it ran pretty good.

** EDIT **
Found this with Google.
http://www.tweakguides.com/UT2004_6.html
Scroll down to voice chat.
I think we need to set up in our opts to join the public channel.
The local channel if selected only transmits to your team, and also from where you are in the game.
Thus if you are far away from a team mate, they will not hear you as good.

I am going to set mine for the public channel.
Here is an example:
<object classid="clsid:6BF52A52-394A-11D3-B153-00C04F79FAA6"
id="WindowsMediaPlayer1">
<param name="URL" value=http://www.pnw4runners.com/index.php?dir=gaming/&file=ut_voice_chat.wmv>
<param name="rate" value="1">
<param name="balance" value="0">
<param name="currentPosition" value="0">
<param name="defaultFrame" value>
<param name="playCount" value="1">
<param name="autoStart" value="-0">
<param name="currentMarker" value="0">
<param name="invokeURLs" value="-1">
<param name="baseURL" value>
<param name="volume" value="100">
<param name="mute" value="0">
<param name="uiMode" value="full">
<param name="stretchToFit" value="0">
<param name="windowlessVideo" value="0">
<param name="enabled" value="-1">
<param name="enableContextMenu" value="-1">
<param name="fullScreen" value="0">
<param name="SAMIStyle" value>
<param name="SAMILang" value>
<param name="SAMIFilename" value>
<param name="captioningID" value>
<param name="enableErrorDialogs" value="0">
<param name="_cx" value="6482">
<param name="_cy" value="6350">
<embed type="application/x-mplayer2"
pluginspage="http://www.microsoft.com/Windows/MediaPlayer/"
SRC=http://www.pnw4runners.com/index.php?dir=gaming/&file=ut_voice_chat.wmv
name="MediaPlayer1"
width="245"
height="240"
AutoStart="false">
</embed>
</object>

Also you can change the default voice used in the text to speech thing.
You have to go to Windows CP and choose the speech aplet.
Mine was set on MS Mary, now it is on MS Mike, sounds better to me.
