Two good Trouble shooting Proggies

Greetings,
This afternoon one of the "Cheerleaders' (duh) I live with downloaded some nasty little bug. I don't know what it was supposed to do, but I had a hell of a time removing it. After installing itself on EVERY USER, it would not allow you to view Task Manager, Regedit, MSconfig or any other configuration utility.
After booting to safe, it did'nt show in any process. The file causing the problem was MSCRON.EXE but did not show on any search. If you booted to windows it ran and caused some problems.

I used to software proggies to repair the system. I would reocmmend downloading them and storing them on a CD for the future. Best part, they were free.
Hijack this, available at :
http://www.spychecker.com/download/d...ijackthis.html

and Process Explorer 8.41 available at:
http://www.sysinternals.com/ntw2k/fr.../procexp.shtml

Hijack this finds any weird browser installs and running stuff and reports it to you in a nice configuration. You can then delete any of the things it shows.

Process Explorer allows you to see ALL the process running on the PC and to Kill any one or all of them.

In this case I had to kill the MSCRON process and then deleted it from the disk with Hijack this.

Just a heads up if you need to see some stuff and a bug won't let.
