SD Card Reader Problems...

Anybody have any experience with these (SD readers)? I've had one for a while now that I haven't really used much, then yesterday when I tried to use it I got an error saying that I couldn't write to the memory card because it was write protected. I just bought a new 1gig SanDisk card, and yes I checked the "Lock" on the side of the card. I could read and copy files from the card, just couldn't write to it. Is there something I need to re/format on the new card??

Thanks,
kp
