so i bought an old iBook for like 50 bucks yesterday, i like having a laptop again . however, i bought a USB wireless adapter for it, and sometimes it will connect and ill be online. sometimes it wont, such as now. and when it does connect, it will only stay connected for maybe 20 minutes at a time then time out, when the rest of the computers in the house are fine, on the same connection. think i have a bad wireless driver, or do i gotta set something up?

 

Is your iBook set to DHCP with NO manual settings whatsoever? Is your iBook 802.11b and all of your other computers are 802.11g and your router is not set to accept both types of network connections? Go to System preferences, then network under the show menu, go to network configurations. On this screen you will see all the way you can connect to the internet. The mac will try to connect in the order that is shown. Also what OS are you running and what Router for wifi.
