Network Testing Equipment - Recommendations?

Looking at getting a decent tone generator for tracking muddled Ethernet runs, and a tester for basic certification. (Not looking for a $5,000 Fluke.) Does anyone have any preferences out there? Like to spend in the $300-$500 range.
