Home Network Question

Sorry if the title is vauge, but i do not really know how to ask this question...
ok so i am hosting a (windows server 2003) streaming media server and the server has remote admin enabled but i am haveing trouble getting to both the streaming music and the remote admin (Also running webserver and that works just fine) to work from outside my network i am sure it is some ports that i forgot to forword or something, the problem is that i have a wireless router that goes through a wired router then to firewall then through the modem. So there is like 4 devices that it needs to be forworded through and changeing one setting at a time then going to school and testing it is going to take FOREVER. My question is... is there a way i can go out of my network and come back in from my home? Becuase from inside the network everything works great i just need a way to test comeing IN through the routers/firewall without needing to physically go somewhere else to test it. Sorry this is long but it is kind of hard to explain what i am looking for.

set up tightvnc to access your computer from school and then log out and test it.

http://www.tightvnc.com/

its pretty easy to use, its what i use so my bookkeeper can access my computer and balance my books for me. If she can do it anyone should be able to.

Two options off the top of my head:
  • Get a switch and put it in between your cable modem and other hardware. Though your ISP will see you pulling two IPs at once, and may not like that.
  • Set up a DMZ on your hardware and put the machine you want to be "outside" your internal network in it. This may be harder since you have multiple routers. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Demilit...ne_(computing)

You may also want to look into a VPN, if your hardware supports it. Hamachi is good for this: http://www.hamachi.cc/

I'll second using a DMZ, I use sonicwall normally.

I don't understand the need for a wired and wireless router, just use the wireless, and a switch.
