Epson RX620

Anyone heard of this new printer yet?
Got my Saturday morning paper today, and the first section I turn too is the Personal Technology section.

Looks to be a very good printer, and the scanner is top notch, and the copy feature works with the PC off.

I am in dire need of a new printer sometime.

Hi, Corey. Just read through the specs. Sounds pretty darn good. I see it scans with 48-bit color. I'm pretty sure my HP only has the 32-bit.
Anyway, I've been pretty happy with the HP all-in-one that we purchased with our Dell system. I really haven't heard much regarding Epson's reliability, but the review sounds good. Not sure what to make of the ink cartridges, though. Does it have a seperate black one? The HP cartridges are expensive.
I think the all-in-one printers are great. I use mine to copy documents, print digital photos, scan stuff into the computer, etc. Pretty sweet.

Jim

They're third on my list of favorites. HP comes first, followed by Canon. If it didn't have separate ink cartridges, I wouldn't even consider it.

Saw this today, and the price is right for an all in one.

My parents have a cheaper but similar model. They've got no complaints. It's the only all-in-one I've ever set up that worked the first time.

I think the all in one lasers are the way to go. I never printer color, and laser prints nicer and is cheaper in the long run.

Ditto to this...

I've had two Epson ink jets printers over the years. I had problems wiith both of them. I had a separate Epson scanner too - it was "OK".

HP, Canon, Epson is how I rank them also...

My current stuff includes a Brother Laser MFC-8600 all-in-one, a HP 5850 Bluetooth inkjet, a HP 370 Photo printer and a cool HP 4600 scanner (the one with the see through window - liked it so much I bought a second one {$40 on buy.com}) The Brother is getting old (about 5-6 years old) and is a little slow by today's standards, all of my current equipment has been very reliable.

My next printer will be a color laser printer. Never have to worry about ink going dry, and you can print so much longer on the same cartridge. Dell has some pretty decent ones. I've been setting up the 5100n all over campus this past semester, and they work pretty nice. Too large for the home, IMO... but I'm sure Dell has some smaller choices.

I suggested one to a customer, and he told me later that it didn't come with full cartridges. Of course you can exchange each color seperately, but they all went about the same time adding quite a significant cost pretty soon after he bought it.
Once you're through that, they are great.
