DVD Blank Media

So what brand of DVD-R do you use? I have some DVD's that I own that I want to make copies of just incase something happens to them... I did download the DVD Shrink and I also have Nero StartSmart 6...

But I was wonder what brand, speed, and size of DVD-R's seem to work best for you when you are copying your DVD's...

Thanks a lot

I'm impartial... whatever's cheaper. My DVD player will play either - or + so doesn't matter to me. I never buy a brand I've never heard of before. Since my burner doesn't burn faster than 4x, I get the 4x DVD-R's, which works out well for me because most of the time they're pretty cheap.

Well what is a cheaper brand that you get?

And another question... my burner burns dvd's at 16x... does that mean I have to get a DVD-R that has a speed of 16x? Or could I just buy like 4-8x and have my burner burn at 4-8x?

I usually stick with Memorex or Sony or something like that. What I meant by name brands was if it sounded weird like Daffadillo brand whateverthehell, and they were selling a spindle of 100 DVD-R's for $5, it's probably not a good brand.

Yeah, your burner will burn those DVD's... just at 4-8x.

I use a cheap brand called Legacy.

$32 for 100 DVD-Rs

I've burned over 200 of these DVDs with ZERO coasters.

My burner is an internal NEC.

I second the Legacy recommendation if you are looking to save some money. I have gone through about 50 of the Legacy DVD-R purchased from newegg for like $28. No coasters yet (using a SONY internal drive).
