Just got back from my vacation, my flight was delayed 2 hours, so I had some time to kill, the daytona beach airport had free internet workstations, so I thought I would sit down. Lets just say I had a downloading frenzy, hahaha. 2nd screenshot is the internet at the hotel.

At home with the same test to Seattle I am now getting around 9,500, and 352 upload.
That is strange since my service is 6 megabit down (6,000) and 352 upload.

Can not test it here at work, even though Flash is intalled.
Page will not display all the way.

My ISP is in dire need of an upgrade. I am still stuck at under 5 mg a second. But being the only cable ISP in town, I am kinda stuck. I do not want to go down the DSL route.

Take the Speakeasy Speed Test and test your connection speed! By measuring the download and upload rate from the following locations you are able to accurately judge your current line throughput or internet connection speed. To take the speed test, choose the server nearest you.

The Speakeasy Speed Test requires the latest version of Macromedia Flash Player installed to use with your preferred browser.
Also, temporarily disable any Adblock extensions on your browser.

Last Result:
Download Speed: 4696 kbps (587 KB/sec transfer rate)
Upload Speed: 240 kbps (30 KB/sec transfer rate)

and heres my home connection to the washington dc server. We have 1/4 T1, only high speed connection available in our subdivision other than satellite. Supposedly the neighborhood is wired for cable, its just a matter of the cable companies wanting to connect to us.

That's a pretty site... But someone's confused...

This is what SpeedTest tells me:

This is what SpeakEasy tells me right after:

Pay no attention to SpeedTest claiming that it's a 2150 mile trip - it's picking up the geographical location of my domain.

Gotta love corporate connections:

Download Speed: 25831 kbps (3228.9 KB/sec transfer rate)
Upload Speed: 8103 kbps (1012.9 KB/sec transfer rate)

Now only to get photobucket unblocked to view all the pictures

Ask and you shall receive.

Mediacom will be changing its speeds coming around the next two months.

Normal residential customers - 8mb down and 512k up. From 5mb down / 256k up (I know upload is still weak)

Max customers - 15mb down and 1mb up. From 10mb down / 1mb up
