i have battlefield 1942 and vietnam.... is BF2 worth the money? i don't think vietnam is as good as the original...

 

BF2 is better to me. I love the weapons and the graphics are superior.

 

BF2 is great man. You should pick it up. Personally I think it is the best battlefield yet out of the series.

I have my own server running at my house for practice and try and play on a ranked sever like in the evenings to raise my scores. So far here is where I am at.

I love bf2. I think it has to be one of my favorites.

 

i play on the ECGN servers alot, you can look them up on game-monitor.com, "#1 "and the "city only maps" servers are almost always well populated.

I think I'm cool on waiting almost 6 hours to get my info. It's a kick ass game though, too bad I don't have a computer that runs it.

 

yea his website updates your stats whenever you log on but it takes awhile to process so it doesnt load the server up so bad trying to process so much. Its a nice site but you have to visit it every time you play if you want to be able to view detailed stat graphs over time, like on my page

ECGN are great to play in .... but very crowded.

BF2 netcode is something I don't care for ... don't fly a helo or jet when your ping is above 120ms (milli seconds). If you do, you will become cannon fodder.

BF2 patch 1.02 was a joke. Patch 1.03 works well but, I forsee more patches soon (I hope).

Whatever server you choose make sure it's running "punk buster". Nothing worst than playing a decent game in a server that's over filled with 'juvi' cheaters.

My opinion, BF2 ranks above counter strike: source and BF1941 (including mods).

I just completed single player call of duty 2. I give it about around 7-8.
COD2
Good:
Visuals, historically close (for you purists out there), and won't be boring.

Bad:
Bots AI (artificial intelligence) sometimes get's the other characters stuck, some levels seem to be redundant, BOSS levels are no struggle to complete.

Buy (yes/no): I would (if you haven't already) buy this game later next year when it's discounted. BF2 seems to be a better deal for mulitplayer. My opinion.

 

i wouldnt define any BF2 server as "crowded", instead "hard to get into". IMO a BF2 server is borring w/ less than 50 people playing, and i dont care for the maps the are made for <64 people. Half the fun is the huge areas to fight in.

and i NEVER play in a server with a ping over 80ms or so. I get ~30-70 from ECGN
