Yay GPS for early XMas present!!

Hey... I am back in Hawaii again visiting my dad and brother, so we had an early tropical xmas...and I got a Garmin eTrex Legend GPS unit! It does some really, really cool stuff. It's both a wilderness AND road GPS, has tracking, course plotting, route planning, WAAS, back-track, backlighting, battery saver modes, 8mb of RAM....lots and lots and lots of neat features. I'm just starting to really get the hang of it...it has so many features that you really need to sit down and read the hand book. It has distance traveled, avg speed, walking time, stopped time, elevation change, altimeter, land and sea basemaps, estimated time of arrival, estimated time until arrival, distance to waypoint, time to waypoint, distance to final waypoint....I'm getting a real kick out of playing with it. For anyone who is considering getting a GPS....you should, especially if you are serious about the outdoors! This could really save your life!

Do you still have / like your eTrex?

I was thinking about getting one of these, any input?

I just recently removed my carputer for upgrades but while it was in, using my usb powered GPS rcvr and routis 2004 software was great. Talking directions and a pretty good POI database. I highly recommend in car navigation.
