New Lowrance GPS models

I have been using Lowrance iFinder handheld GPS for the last two years and love it. (I use a ram mount in the truck) imo-it works/performs better than my sons newer garmin eTrex. The map cd's included have many off road trails, mines, etc. pre-defined.

May be time for an upgrade though. Lowrance is coming out with some new, inovative models. I am planning on buying the iFinder PhD with the plus pak (new map software, etc.) when it comes available in a week or two. This model allows you to play mp3's from your memory card, and of greater use to me is the ability to record voice notes. Now when I get home from the outback I will be able to have a voice record of why I set some specific waypoints!

Check em out at http://www.lowrance.com/outdoor/default.asp

The Phd model can be seen at:

Lowrance is top notch.
I spent about a half hour at their booth (or whoever it was selling their stuff) at the off-road expo. Something special about a 6" color setup that has a direct access keypad.

anyone familiar with the Lowrance Baja and their optional topo's? Will their system run the topo's provided by other vendors?

Baja

Where were you able to find a place to get the Lowrance Baja? I've been looking around locally and haven't had any luck, as well as online sites like REI and what not. That's the unit I've been looking for, but after looking more at their handhelds, I may have to get one and leave my eTrex Legend as a back up

Thanks

Braden

Braden,

They are backordered for 2 months... Nobody has them in stock. They have been very popular and Lowrance cannot keep up with demand.

I wouldn't expect to find anyone with a stock of them for 4 months or so.
