i heard 'through the grapevine' that there is a kid at my school [with a 4runner] that put a megaphone in his car, so he can essentially talk to people, much like what the police have in their cars... where could i find one of these? and how does it work?

 

its a radio, like a microphone and a speker, and is illegal! no ne but cops or public servants are allowed to have them or use them anytime on any roadway or parking lots, etc... the only time you might not get in trouble is 4 wheeling, however a lot of the land is governemtn owned so issues will be run inot their as well

 

some CB radios allow you to have a PA speaker. my dad had such a setup on his old firebird.

yeah, i don't know how illegal they are, but lots of CB radios have a PA feature, but you have to buy the PA wich is essentially a speaker.

 

i have one and love it... for example today i was driving and saw one of my sisters friends jogging and i came up behind her playing the Rocky Movie theme song... also last night a few friends and i were driving past starbucks and i said "coffee is murder" to see some strange reactions.. its fun and i think its illegal, but oh well thats what lawyers are for...

 

My CB has the PA feature, it is great.

We park in the Safeway lot waiting for others to show up for a run, and I monitor channel 4 that way in case any straglers are running behind, and we can hear them call us on the CB.

And yes, you can also broadcast your voice over it.
Been tempted to use it for stupid drivers, but I do not.

 

Yes, very tempting, but I would never to it. I do use it on my dad though, lol, he thinks its cool, but hes not a stupid driver unless he wants to be, hahaha
