I just got a Garmin Legend C and it's my first GPS

Ok I've been reading alot about GPS and finally bought a Garmin Legend C to work with my NG Back Roads Explorer . I purchased this GPS because NG said it would work with it and I love the NG maps and I really like the Legend C this thing is great and easy for a first timer like me, but when I go into NG setup GPS it does not list a USB connection only com port. does anybody know if the Legend works with NG and is it as simple as getting a different cable. Since this is my first GPS Any help would be greatly apreciated. Thanks

Just checking their website, the Legend is in the compatibility list so it should work. Is there an auto find for the GPS in the program? I'm using the regular Legend and in Mapsource it comes up as com 4.
