CB Install Problem

Istalled an older CB. Install went smooth and was very easy. Turned it on and everything sounded fine. Transmitted and it was fine. Next time I turned it on, all channels were blank, and upon transmitting there was a great amount of noise. Almost a screeching. Checked both grounds and they were fine. Checked the power and signal and both looked okay. All butt connecters with no soldering. The only thing I can think of is that it was raining the second time and not the first time. Brand new coax. Any ideas? thank you
