CB install

I installed a CB the other day, and I found a way to make it fit on top of my dash for now. I don't like it there though, but until I can find a good place to put it, I have to leave it there. I have an aftermarket deck in my runner, but the CB is too big to put beneath it. Any ideas? It's a 93 4runner, 5spd 4x4, so keep all my shifters in mind when throwin out ideas. I wahted to do a mount on the floor of the passenger side angled up towards me in the driver's seat, but then I would never get into 4 low...

Haha mine fit perfectly under my stereo. It sticks out like four inches but the other dimensions were perfect. Since yours doesn't fit there, Im guessing its bigger. You can mount it on the passenger side of the hump in a way it doesnt interfere with the tcase selector, and I've seen some mounted in the glove box. Or you can get the 40 dollar uniden (or cobra one or the other) that is small enough to fit in the ashtray spot.

it's a full-size chassis like a PC244 or 148GT?

not many options at that point - maybe mounting it to the side of the trans hump/shifter housing or something pointed up at you (clearanced for the shifters).

i know you can fit a 148 into the DIN-sized opening if you aren't afraid to do some trimming, although it will stick out a tad (shouldn't interfere with the shifters, though).

depends on what you want to do with them.

i'll take an older PC244 or PC122, or Cobra 148GTL over a new cobra, even the fancy ones with that night lighting or bluetooth built in.

they're easily tunable, well-known, and mods are well-documented. many people can easily doctor one of these w/o a scope or other fancy equipment other than a small screwdriver.

Put mine on behind the driver seat, but I only use it when wheeling so it stays on one channel.
